The Mountain Shakespeare Festival, performs under the sky and stars in scenic Pine Mountain Club in the Frazier Park area, launches its third full season on July 5, 2008 through July 27, bringing top-notch entertainment to Southern California. The company motto is “Stay, and Breathe Awhile…” and this year’s Shakespeare offering is the ever-delightful A Comedy of Errors. For the first time, MSF will produce, in rotating repertory, a non-Shakespearean play, You Can’t Take it With You. The Festival offers not only outstanding productions, it also features live music, dancing and a Bard’s Faire. The Pine Mountain Village offers great dining, shopping, golf, horseback riding, 4-wheeling, hiking and private and scenic accommodations. This gives relaxation a whole new meaning. Mountain Shakespeare Festival was founded by experienced theatre professionals and it is rapidly achieving their goal of creating a prestigious and entertaining festival similar to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. MSF is a 501-c-3 non-profit. Only a one-hour pleasurable drive from downtown Los Angeles, day and weekend visitors can enjoy two shows in the outdoor theatre and a host of outdoor activities in clean air, surrounded by the beauty of the pristine mountains. Performers
Peter Kjenaas, Artistic Director, is a veteran actor, director and playwright who worked at the Oregon, California and Kern Shakespeare Festivals in those capacities. Michelle Morain is a nationally acknowledged critically acclaimed actor who also serves at the Education Director of the Festival. Mary Main, Technical and Design Director,specializes in graphic arts and design, with extensive experience in all aspects of production, and Kat Fair, the festival’s Managing Director, was Public Relations manager for the Saint Louis Repertory.

To get to Frazier Park and the Pine Mountain Club area, simply go North on I-5 to the Frazier Mountain Park Road Exit (Exit 236), follow the canyon for 15 miles until you reach the village of Pine Mountain Club. When you’ve reached paradise, you’ve arrived.
