Dahlonega, Georgia, USA
Mid September
Description
Bust out your fiddle and dust off your dancin' shoes for the Dahlonega Folkways Festival featuring Bluegrass and Old-time Music and Treasured Mountain Traditions. September 11, 12 and 13, 2003.

The best national, regional and local performers in bluegrass and old-time music are coming to the North Georgia Mountains. Our featured performers are Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike and Ginny Hawker and Tracy Schwarz with special guest Debra Clifford. The music continues with regional and local performers such as Gold Rush - The Warblers - The Solstice Sisters - Tune Dogs - Pot Luck String Band - The Georgia Potlickers - Michael and Joe Matteson - Garments of Praise - Ron Hipp with Margie and Bob McAbee - Eddie Milsap and Jim Foster. And don't miss Bluegrass Alliance, The Hoyles, and SteelBlue. The festival will be held at Lumpkin County's newest county park - The Yahoola Recreational Complex. In addition to great music, the family-oriented festival features craft demonstrations, traditional games and fun music events for children and families. There will be tents for jamming and tents for cramming with discussions about mountain music, traditions and culture in the shadow of the Appalachian Trail.

Join us for the best spontaneous jam sessions your ears will ever have the pleasure of hearing!
