DescriptionEvents are scheduled all three days at Timber Linn Park and Albany Municipal Airport. Admission is free; premium parking is available at a small cost.
The three-day festival includes a juried art show and sale; hot-air balloons lifting off every morning and the popular Night Glow Friday evening; Main Stage concert in the Oregon Amphitheater Saturday night; fireworks following the concert on Saturday; and a nondenominational community worship service on Sunday.
About five dozen artists from throughout the Northwest are expected. Artwork for sale will include wood, metal, jewelry, raku, and other pottery, porcelain, stained glass, fused glass, fiber, oil and watercolor paintings, and collages.
Other activities include children’s art show and sale and hands-on art projects; a children’s maze,; displays of vintage aircraft, modern airplanes, and helicopters; airplane and hot-air balloon rides; food booths, and live music.
About 40 hot-air balloons from throughout the western United States will launch each morning, weather permitting, at Timber Linn Park, the third year at the Festival venue. Breakfast will be available at the park at the balloon launches each morning.
The Northwest Art & Air Festival is presented by the Albany Parks & Recreation Department and the Albany Visitors Association. Rare metals manufacturer Wah Chang is the title sponsor.
