Quad Cities JugglefestDavenport, Iowa, USA
Early November
DescriptionThe Quad Cities Juggling Club presents the Quad Cities Jugglefest. This local group has hosted more than 600 amateur and professional jugglers during their last four festivals. The weekend features open juggling and informal workshops, as well as vendors who sell beginner and professional-grade equipment. Weather permitting, we've scheduled exhibitions of fire juggling and eating. Also, there are juggling and unicycle competitions and free beginner's workshops. We'll teach anybody to juggle if they stand still long enough.
The public is also invited to a free vaudeville show at the Capitol Theater in downtown Davenport. You can see some of the best jugglers in the country. Besides the normal juggling of balls, rings and clubs, the show features people combining juggling and sign language, juggling and magic, juggling and unicycle-riding. Plus, there are performances of toilet plunger juggling and one fellow who juggles a single bowling ball using his head and neck. This is going to be a show like the Quad Cities have never seen.
With a nonperishable food donation, the entire weekend is free. There is no charge for admission, no charge for workshops, and no charge for the show. The public is invited to stop by to watch, ask questions, or join in the workshops.
