International Ballet Theater
The International Ballet Theatre was founded in 1993 by Artistic Director and Choreographer Vladimir Choumeikine, Premier Dancer and Ballet Master Alexander Boitsov and his late wife, Prima Ballerina Irina Matiash-Boitsova, and Costume Designer and Ballet Master Galina Choumeikina. IBT’s founders studied in the Kiev State Academy of Ballet where the teachers were graduates of Vaganova in St. Petersburg. For over 10 years, Vladimir Choumeikine headed Donetsk Ballet Theater where Alexander Boitsov was Assistant Ballet Master, Principal Dancer and Irina Matiash-Boitsova was a Principal Dancer. IBT founders are internationally held in high regard for their talents and accomplishments, as attested to by numerous critical reviews and awards they have received during worldwide tours.
