Springfest Garden Art and Fairy Festival

Springfest takes place along the green and tree-covered expanse of Gulfport’s 7.5 acre Clymer Park, along the Beach Boulevard approach to the City’s historic waterfront district. The Garden Art & Faerie themed festival will transform the park into an “enchanted village” inhabited by costumed faeries, sprites, gnomes, ogres and trolls. Renaissance-era characters, gypsies, minstrels, wizards and roving entertainers in costume will also stroll through the event. A wide variety of activities and entertainment will include a May pole dance, a faerie house contest, costume contests and live music. A children’s area will offer many activities including tiara-making, face painting, pixie dusting, bubble blowing, and more. Vendors offer plants, garden art, flowers, herbs, Renaissance-period items, clothing, jewelry, art, hand-made crafts, food & beverages, and other items of interest. There is no admission fee for the pet-friendly event, and complimentary parking is available with gratis trolley rides to and from off-site parking areas.

47th Annual Blessing of the Fleet

Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival

Sugar Sand Walk Exhibit at the 3rd Annual Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival, April 17-26, 2015 on Clearwater Beach. A 21,000 square-foot tent will be filled with sand-sculpted art crafted by world-class sculptors using Clearwater’s internationally-famous sugar sand. A thousand tons of Clearwater sand will transform into an enchanted story-land, featuring classic fairy tales and modern day literary adventures, where reality and fantasy are brought to life. The ten-day sculpting festival includes a variety of free activities including sand sculpting clinics, speed sand demonstrations, a children’s play area, extended Sunsets at Pier 60 hours, fireworks and entertainment. The festival is a joint effort between Sunsets at Pier 60 and the City of Clearwater that has become one of the most popular activities of the City of Clearwater’s annual Fun ‘n Sun Festival. This year, it has been designated an official Clearwater Centennial event as the city celebrates its 100th birthday. Sunsets at Pier 60 Daily Festival will celebrate its 20-year anniversary in 2015.

A portion of the auction proceeds this year will be earmarked for Wenatchee River Institute’s: Youth Education Field Day Program, Summer Camp, and Community Garden, for Upper Valley MEND’s Community Cupboards Veggie Voucher and Swim Lesson Voucher programs, and new this year, and Earth Day Fair College Scholarship Fund. The Fair is put on by the Leavenworth Earth Day Fair Committee. We are an independent group of volunteers. Kids of all ages get the opportunity to demonstrate their physical fitness by participating in a time-based obstacle course that includes sprinting, jump roping, wall crawls, hurdles, jumping jacks, sit ups, tunnel crawls and to finish off the course - a 20 foot confidence climb and 60 meter dash to the finish! The event features lots of activities for the whole family to enjoy to include Xtreme gaming fun for all ages, rides, food and on-site programming designed to inspire kids and families to live a more active and healthy lifestyle. Dirty Dan Harris Festival – Fairhaven, WA Save the date! Sunday, April 26 is Dirty Dan Harris Festival - Fairhaven’s annual celebration of the unscrubbed community founder, Dirty Dan Harris. Live music and food and street vendors take place on the Fairhaven Village Green between 10am and 6pm. This year’s festivities will feature family-fun activities including a salmon toss for adults & kids, a donut hole eating contest, and the legendary Dirty Dan look-a-like & 1800s dress contests. 10am is the Dan Harris Challenge Rowing Race at Boulevard Park replicating Dan Harriss cross-border rum-rowing adventures. At high noon you won’t want to miss the always exciting uphill piano race! After the race, swagger over to the Dirty Dan Sidewalk Saloon - open from noon to 6pm next to the Green on 10th St. The new Chuckanut Chili Cook-Off takes place from 2-4pm. Tickets to sample the chili ($10) will cover a taste of each on hand, and a bowl of your favorite, with a piece of bread alongside. The Old Fourth Ward Business Association is excited to announce the launch of the inaugural Fire in the 4th, a festival taking place Saturday May 2, 2015, from 3 to 10p.m. With the purpose of building awareness for the community and businesses of the Old Fourth Ward, as well as to raise funds for street signage, and public safety initiatives, Fire in the 4th is looking to be an annual staple for one of Atlanta’s most recognized neighborhoods. Paying homage to the historic Great Atlanta Fire of 1917 which devastated the Old Fourth Ward, the festival will celebrate its heritage through art displays, sculptures, fire installations and performances, live music, and more. A location for the festival will be announced in the coming months. With Fire in the 4th, we really wanted to introduce an event that was reflective of the dynamic rebirth of the Old Fourth Ward, says O4WBA Event Chairman and Nonis Restaurant owner Matt Ruppert. By using the the reverent lens of the Great Atlanta Fire of 1917, this event will celebrate all that makes this one of Atlantas most exciting neighborhoods. In conjunction with the announcement of the festival, the Old Fourth Ward Business Association invites the local art community to participate in a logo contest beginning Friday June 6, 2014. Winning submissions will be featured throughout the festival and included as the official logo on all materials advertising the Fire in the 4th Festival. The winner will also receive a $200 prize. Entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on July 7, 2014 with limit to one submission per person. The winner will be notified by August 8, 2014 and will be decided by a committee comprised of members of The Old Fourth Ward Business Association.
