47th Annual Blessing of the Fleet

The Old Fourth Ward Business Association is excited to announce the launch of the inaugural Fire in the 4th, a festival taking place Saturday May 2, 2015, from 3 to 10p.m. With the purpose of building awareness for the community and businesses of the Old Fourth Ward, as well as to raise funds for street signage, and public safety initiatives, Fire in the 4th is looking to be an annual staple for one of Atlanta’s most recognized neighborhoods. Paying homage to the historic Great Atlanta Fire of 1917 which devastated the Old Fourth Ward, the festival will celebrate its heritage through art displays, sculptures, fire installations and performances, live music, and more. A location for the festival will be announced in the coming months. With Fire in the 4th, we really wanted to introduce an event that was reflective of the dynamic rebirth of the Old Fourth Ward, says O4WBA Event Chairman and Nonis Restaurant owner Matt Ruppert. By using the the reverent lens of the Great Atlanta Fire of 1917, this event will celebrate all that makes this one of Atlantas most exciting neighborhoods. In conjunction with the announcement of the festival, the Old Fourth Ward Business Association invites the local art community to participate in a logo contest beginning Friday June 6, 2014. Winning submissions will be featured throughout the festival and included as the official logo on all materials advertising the Fire in the 4th Festival. The winner will also receive a $200 prize. Entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on July 7, 2014 with limit to one submission per person. The winner will be notified by August 8, 2014 and will be decided by a committee comprised of members of The Old Fourth Ward Business Association. Regarded as the largest inland regatta in the country and the tri-states largest community event, the EQT Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta welcomes and delights over 600,000 spectators annually, elevates the quality of life for the people of the region by providing free world-class attractions including: the largest powerboat racing competition on the circuit, the EQT “Flashes of Freedom” Fireworks—the regions most prolific fireworks display, and an eclectic array of land, air and water entertainment including local and national concerts. The non-profit 501(c)3 civic event is governed by a Board of Directors and the event is managed by Pittsburgh-based ISM/USA.

5th World Childrens Festival

The WCF has become a permanent quadrennial event in our nation’s capital since it was first launched in 1999 as the “Olympics” of children’s imagination and co-creation. The WCF advances a global movement for children’s creative and empathic development sparked some twenty years ago by the International Child Art Foundation (ICAF) as the building block for universal prosperity and peace. The WCF educational programming is based on STEAMS Education—the ICAFs pioneering approach that integrates STEM disciplines with art and culture (signified by the A) and sport and play (the S) for children’s holistic development. Workshops and activities will focus on Health & Environment on July 2nd, Creativity & Imagination on July 3rd, and Peace & Leadership on July 4th.

IKEA Renton River Days

IKEA Renton River Days is an annual six-day community family festival. Originating in 1986, this celebration unites residents, businesses, organizations and Puget Sound region tourists together for a wonderful variety of events and special activities for youth, families and seniors. Annual favorites include arts and crafts, visual and performing arts, recreation, food, exhibitions, childrens activities and stage entertainment. With nearly 35 events and special programs over several days and at various locations within Renton, the main festival is held the fourth weekend of July. Estimated attendance has risen to 40,000 for the multi-day celebration of Renton and its residents, history and culture.

Festival513 returns this summer to coincide with the Macy’s Music Festival held at Paul Brown Stadium. Festival513 serves as a complementary event meeting the needs of the nearly 40,000 Macy’s Music Festival patrons expected that weekend. Strategically located on Elm Street directly in front of Paul Brown Stadium, Festival513 transforms the thoroughfare into a convenient and centralized shopping area of food and general merchandise vendors. Festival513 is certain to capture the attention and enthusiasm of festival patrons as well as the general public. Hours of operation are Friday 6:00 pm until 2:00 am and Saturday 10:00 am until 2:00 am. The event is free and open for all to attend. Macys Music Festival began in 1962, a pure jazz event at Carthage Fairgrounds. It evolved into the largest rhythm and blues festival in the country, with a total economic impact of $25 million, according to to a 2000 report released by the Greater Cincinnati Center for Economic Education at the University of Cincinnati. It is more than just a concert, its an event! Its a place for people-watch, eat, drink, shop, mingle, relax, soak in the rays, and of course hear some of the worlds finest contemporary music. This years lineup will be one the most diverse and electrifying in the Festivals history. The incredible combination of R&B, Hip-Hop and Jazz offers musical variety for every taste.

Since its inception in 1962, the Festival has continually showcased the biggest names in contemporary music. Past performers include David Sanborn, Luther Vandross, Randy Crawford, Will Downing, Grover Washington, Jr., George Duke, Chaka Kahn, Patti LaBelle, Maysa, Nancy Wilson, Al Jarreau, and many, many more.


14th Annual North Fair Oaks Community Festival

Every year the North Fair Oaks Community Festival welcomes the community to enjoy a day of free live entertainment, arts and crafts, food and beverages, childrens rides and activities, and a festive parade. The festival proceeds benefit the many youth programs of the San Mateo County Sheriffs Office and provide scholarships through the Queen of the Festival scholarship program. Youth programs keep our youth safe and occupied during the critical, after-school hours and during the most vulnerable years of the school careers.
