47th St. Patricks Day Festival & Parade

For forty-seven years now Delray Beach has hosted Floridas largest St Patricks Day charity parade! Firefighters and Paramedics, representing communities from all across the continental United States, and beyond, will march together with pride, stability, honor, patriotism, tradition, and teamwork, with citizens, civic groups, businesses and organizations in an amazing display of community unity. . Festival Management Group will kick off the weekend long festivities with a two day Celtic Siamsa Party featuring Irish dancing, traditional pipe & drum bands, Irish storytelling, food, beer and live music. The Siamsa is hosted by Festival Management Group Inc. and the Master Leprechaun Himself, Jake De Fayke. Professor De Fayke is an encyclopedia of all things Irish and is sure to educate and entertain.

Fairy House Festival

This fun filled two day event feature a fairy house competition as its centerpiece. The community is invited to build a fairy house and submit it for cash prizes. The fairy houses will be displayed throughout the 30 acre historic site located on Little Sarasota Bay. There will be musical performances, storytellers, puppet shows, a vendors village and a monster mural to be painted by attendees.

The Annual Blessing of the Fleet is a celebration of Darien, GAs largest industry, shrimping. Many activities are hosted by the Darien-McIntosh County Chamber of Commerce including a street parade, a 5K sponsored by the YMCA, a vintage car show, childrens activities, live entertainment, Art in the Park sponsored by the McIntosh County Art Association, childrens activites and a marine parade. Over the course of the three day festival more than 30,000 visitors will come to take part in the excitement. On Sunday, the shrimpers line their boats up on the Darien River to be blessed with a safe and prosperous season. The Blessing of the Fleet in Darien is the largest shrimpboat blessing of the East Coast.

The Old Fourth Ward Business Association is excited to announce the launch of the inaugural Fire in the 4th, a festival taking place Saturday May 2, 2015, from 3 to 10p.m. With the purpose of building awareness for the community and businesses of the Old Fourth Ward, as well as to raise funds for street signage, and public safety initiatives, Fire in the 4th is looking to be an annual staple for one of Atlanta’s most recognized neighborhoods. Paying homage to the historic Great Atlanta Fire of 1917 which devastated the Old Fourth Ward, the festival will celebrate its heritage through art displays, sculptures, fire installations and performances, live music, and more. A location for the festival will be announced in the coming months. With Fire in the 4th, we really wanted to introduce an event that was reflective of the dynamic rebirth of the Old Fourth Ward, says O4WBA Event Chairman and Nonis Restaurant owner Matt Ruppert. By using the the reverent lens of the Great Atlanta Fire of 1917, this event will celebrate all that makes this one of Atlantas most exciting neighborhoods. In conjunction with the announcement of the festival, the Old Fourth Ward Business Association invites the local art community to participate in a logo contest beginning Friday June 6, 2014. Winning submissions will be featured throughout the festival and included as the official logo on all materials advertising the Fire in the 4th Festival. The winner will also receive a $200 prize. Entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on July 7, 2014 with limit to one submission per person. The winner will be notified by August 8, 2014 and will be decided by a committee comprised of members of The Old Fourth Ward Business Association.
