Many of Friday and Saturdays workshops will be focused around creating decorations, instruments, costumes, learning dance moves and percussion rhythms ready for the spectacular figure 8 parade that winds its way around the festival leading to a LED show, fireworks and lighting of the sacred fire. This is a boutique festival with a desire to find people who really know how to join in and celebrate the senses. This festival might not be for everyone, but for the people that get it, then it will be the best festival they have ever attended and helped happen. It is more than just a concert, its an event! Its a place for people-watch, eat, drink, shop, mingle, relax, soak in the rays, and of course hear some of the worlds finest contemporary music. This years lineup will be one the most diverse and electrifying in the Festivals history. The incredible combination of R&B, Hip-Hop and Jazz offers musical variety for every taste.

River Blast

It’s going to be a blast down on the Kentucky River for the 2015 River Blast, presented by Kentucky American Water, takes place at Fort Boonesborough State Park Saturday August 1st from Noon – 10 p.m. Organized by the Kentucky River Water Trail Alliance and benefiting Bluegrass Tomorrow and the Kentucky Riverkeeper organization, River Blast will include the “blast” component Fireworks, presented by the Kentucky Department of Adventure Tourism at 10 p.m., “Water Fire” a bonfire on the Boonesborough Beach beginning at 6 p.m., live entertainment all day. The “Race Between the Locks” offers the public a chance to get on the river to canoe or kayak with a 6-mile “fun paddle” to Clays Ferry (beginning at Noon) or for advanced paddlers a 21-mile race to Valley View (begins at 8 a.m.) Prices are $50 per person for the fun paddle, $75 for the advanced race, includes refreshments, water, t-shirt, prizes, food, and canoes (if you don’t have your own boat). A car show (antiques, hot rods & more), festival foods and concessions including a beer garden, river and water exhibits, arts & crafts vendors, kids activities, and fun for the whole family are also planned.

Sweet Pea Festival

The Sweet Pea Festival is a three day festival of the arts held the first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in August. The Festival kicks off late Friday afternoon in Lindley Park with a performance by Montana Shakespeare in the Parks Saturday ramps up with a children’s run and parade that lead the community to the park where the festivities continue through 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Weekend entertainment comes in many forms – music of all genres, performances by local theatre and dance troupes, workshops, family-friendly entertainment and activities, a flower show, a beer and wine garden featuring Montana microbrews, and over 100 arts and crafts vendors to stroll through and purchase unique gifts for yourself, family, and friends. The week leading up to the Festival offers additional fun-filled, community events. Artists of all skill levels converge on Main Street Tuesday morning for Chalk on the Walk. Wednesday evening local restaurants line Main Street to offer up samples of their fare, while musicians entertain, during the ever popular Bite of Bozeman and the Sweet Pea Art Show runs through the entire month of August at the Bozeman Public Library. Our exhibit area featured a wonderful variety of dollhouses, room boxes, and other very clever miniature exhibits. To share your exhibit click on the entry form on our web site. Silent Auction The silent auction will be Saturday, October 10th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be wonderful miniatures to bid on. Bid early, bid often. 12th Year of Popular FREE Program - Tools and Techniques Sunday, October 7th from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. we will have a FREE Tools and Techniques seminar for all. It will be held across the lobby from the show and will cover a number of power and hand tools, as well as information on roofing, flooring, wall treatments, basic landscaping, and other aspects of making miniatures. Please join us. Friday Workshops We will offer exciting workshops at the Doubletree the afternoon and evening of Friday the 9th, featuring prominent teachers from all over the country. Our 2015 workshops can be seen on our website after June 1, 2015. Fun for Kids! Free!!! Children can make a miniature project of their very own at our free Childrens Workshops Saturday and Sunday from noon until 3 pm. They can try building, landscaping, or soar with their imagination before going over to the Childrens Sales Table where we have priced miniature items for a childs budget. More Fun for Kids We have special classes for children on show Saturday. Children must be pre-registered for these classes. Check the web site for further information and for a registration application, after July of 2015. Also, on Monday, October 12th, we will offer two all day classes in Morgan Hill. In one you will learn how to form copper into various miniature items. In the other one you will dress a doll of your choice. Both will be 1:12 scale.
