BullDog 100 Mini NASCAR® Race
May 29 - May 31, 2008
Texarkana, Texas, USA
The BullDog 100 Mini NASCAR Race benefits Texarkana College's Rising Star Scholarship Program.

Established in 2003, the Rising Star Scholarship was developed to help catch those students who "fall through the cracks" in the current systems of financial aid-students whose income levels are too high to qualify for traditional financial aid, yet lack the funds to enroll in college.

Since its inception, The Rising Star Scholarship has opened the doors of higher education to over 1000 deserving young men and women - many of them first generation college students!

What makes this scholarship particularly exciting and unique?

* It Pays FULL Tuition & Fees for TWO Years!
* It's open to ANY qualified High School Graduate, from ANYWHERE in the WORLD!

The Rising Star Scholarship is a full tuition and fee scholarship for academic or vocational classes for the freshman and sophomore years. Recipients are also eligible to participate in a book loan program, whereby they can rent textbooks while enrolled at Texarkana College. Applicants must be current high school graduates, apply and be ineligible for a full PELL Grant, and have a family taxable gross income of $75,000 or less. Application deadline is August 1st following high school graduation. First year recipients must maintain full-time status and a minimum GPA of 2.0. Rising Star students who complete their freshman year with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 and full-time status are eligible for sophomore year funding.

The BullDog 100 Mini NASCAR Race was established in 2005 as the annual fundraiser for the Rising Star program. Two years in the making, our first two years have been huge successes, with an amazing 64 race teams, over 500 participants, close to 6000 spectators, and more than $80,000 raised for scholarships!

The BullDog 100 brings together teams from local, area and regional businesses, industries, community leaders and various civic groups to race miniature NASCAR-style cars through a twisting, turning 1/2 mile course, running through the heart of the Texarkana College campus. Funds raised from this event will go 100% to the College's Rising Star Scholarship Fund. The event offers live music, scrumptious festival-type foods, a huge "Kids' Pit" with games, contests, and inflatable playgrounds, and of course, plenty of mini NASCAR racing action!

The 2008 BullDog 100 will be even bigger, better and more exciting than ever with returning champions, new vendors, and a weekend of fun activities for the whole family. But we know why you're really coming-to see who wins the coveted Checkered Flag!

Come to the Burke Lakefront Airport for three days of flying festivities. There are flight simulators, static aircraft, educational displays, aviation souvenirs and more.

The Cleveland National Air Show has a volunteer Board of Trustees comprised of approximately 40 business and civic leaders who contribute their time, energies and acumen to present the best Air Show possible to the Greater Cleveland area.

Reaching east to Erie, PA; south to Columbus, OH; and west to Toledo, OH the Cleveland National Air Show is one of Northern Ohio's largest regional events. The show celebrates not only Cleveland's role as "Host to the Golden Age of Aviation" during the 1929-1949 National Air Races but also Ohio's role as the "Birthplace of Aviation" more astronauts (21 at last count) have come from Ohio than any other State in the Union including John Glenn and Neil Armstrong. Ohio is also home to Orville and Wilbur Wright who painstakingly researched, invented, developed and perfected manned powered flight in Dayton, Ohio.

Each year dozen's of non-profit and charitable organizations conduct substantial fund-raising by operating concession stands and providing manpower in ticket booths, parking lots and other duties.

Through it's supporting Foundation, the Cleveland National Air Show annually maintains the Marjorie Rosenbaum Aviation Plaza -- a striking tribute to exhibition aviation at Burke Lakefront Airport, and awards scholarships to Cleveland-area youths with financial needs pursuing aviation or aerspace degrees.

D1GP World Championship Match
November 22 - November 23, 2008
Torrance, California, USA
Drifting in the U.S. has been around about 10 years but until a few years ago it was relegated to an underground status, much like the early years of the sport in Japan. In August of 2003 the D1 Grand Prix made its first stateside debut with the help of Yokohama Tire Corporation as the title sponsor. This D1GP All Star Invitational was an instant success with a sell-out crowd that broke all attendance records up to that point at Irwindale Speedway near Los Angeles, California. From that point on, professional drifting was firmly placed in the crosshairs of America's Gen-Y consumers, motorsports enthusiasts, vehicle and performance product manufacturers, and corporations seeking a targeted vehicle to reach the $200 billion annual Gen-Y consumer market. The D1 Grand Prix USA Series represents the pinnacle of the sport in the U.S. by providing fans with a high energy motorsports spectacle that features amazing tuner machinery piloted by the best drivers in the world who fight intense, action-packed battles for drifting supremacy. Since that groundbreaking 2003 event, the D1 Grand Prix has held over 7 competition events and numerous demonstrations in the U.S. To maintain the highest level of competition, D1 encourages the top drivers from their domestic Japanese series to compete in the U.S. with the top American competitors in the sport. Starting with the 2007 season, many teams in Japan have built D1 specification drift cars specifically for the U.S. series and keep them here for the season to avoid the high Japan to U.S. shipping costs and lengthy transit times that have previously hindered flexibility for the series.

Cable Airshow
January 10 - January 11, 2009
Upland, California, USA
Thank you for supporting the 33rd Annual Cable Airshow in Upland, California, formerly the Pomona Valley Air Fair, and the longest running airshow in Southern California. This is the first airshow of the year in the world. In 2007, attendance grew to 16,000 Southern California spectators. This year, we expect it to grow to 20,000 through the extensive advertising program planned for 2008. Cable Airport has been operated by the same family for 63 years and is the world’s largest familyowned, public use airport. In 1945, Dewey and Maude Cable established Cable Airport on 80 acres they purchased. This event is conducted as an activity of the Cable Airport Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) organization. The proceeds support the organizations mentioned below, to name a few. The airshow is coordinated by community leaders from the Pomona Valley Pilots Association, EAA Chapter 448 and Cable Airport. We provide annual scholarship awards to students pursuing a career in aviation at local colleges. We assist the Young Eagles Program, a national effort of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association), in which airplane rides are given to young people ages 8 to 17. And, we support the Civil Air Patrol program which provides the opportunity for youth who are interested careers in aviation, Emergency Services, Aerospace Education, and the Air Force. We thank you for partnering with us and making the airshow a success. Please join us the second weekend in January for this spectacular family event. Your friend, Bob Cable President, Cable Airport Foundation
