In the past 3 years what was once a quaint stop off of Interstate 95 has quickly become a destination for children, families, and teams to play, learn and cherish the game of baseball.
The Ripken Academy consists of a youth-sized version of Oriole Park at Camden Yards, known as Cal Sr.'s Yard and youth-sized replicas of Wrigley Field, Fenway Park and Memorial Stadium. The Academy boasts a one-of-a-kind circular training infield, batting cages and a tee/soft-toss area.
Tournaments in Aberdeen include:
3 game minimum (weekend tournaments), 4 game minimum (holiday tournaments)
Official Nike Baseballs and Certified Umpires
Games on Ripken Academy's signature, professional-quality fields
Access to the entire complex, including concessions, on-site photography, merchandise venues, batting cages, pitching mounds & more!
In 2006, this unique youth baseball destination attracted players and families from 45 states with over 8,500 participants and over 20,000 visitors. The complex continues to grow and improve - "The Warehouse" located at our Oriole Park at Camden Yards opens its doors as a Marriott hotel in December 2006.

(annually, over 200 are staged internationally) Great American Duck Races of Phoenix, AZ awarded “Racer of the Year” for the 1998 and 2000 races.
Over $1,500,000 raised (over 18 years) for charities including the Olympic Medical Center Foundation, The Sequim Radiation Oncology Center, the Forks Soroptimists, the Sequim Boys and Girls Club and other Sequim Rotary projects

The Grove United Soccer Association would like to cordially invite your U-8 to U19 Boys and Girls teams to participate in the Grove United Memorial Day Shootout. We are offering a fee reduction of $25 per team if register by March 15, 2008.
The Grove United Shootout tournament has moved to the Memorial Day weekend, May 23 - May 26, 2008. We anticipate an exciting weekend of soccer.
ABOUT GROVE UNITED
Grove United Soccer Association (GUSA) is a registered IYSA travel soccer club. It provides youth players from U8-U19 a structured program that helps build character and teaches sportsmanship, teamwork, individual responsibility and work ethic. The program is designed for those who wish to build their soccer skills in order to participate at the High School or possibly College level.
Grove United’s Revolution Select teams play at the highest levels of league and tournament play. They seek to be highly regarded teams in the state, region and country as measured by sources such as the gotsoccer.com or nationalsoccerranking.com ratings services. The program requires a higher commitment level, including attendance at additional practices and tournaments in addition to a superior level of desire and effort.
Grove United Soccer Association is the host of the Memorial Day Shootout Soccer Tournament. The 2008 Memorial Day Shootout, an USYS/IYSA sanctioned soccer tournament featuring top US and Foreign competitive soccer teams, will be held on May 23-26 in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.

The Buckeye Stampede Pro Rodeo will again be held at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds in Dover. The rodeo, sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the Women's Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) will take place July 11 - 13, 2008.
The Buckeye Stampede Pro Rodeo will again feature professional cowboys and cowgirls competing in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, tie down roping, steer wrestling, women's barrel racing, team roping and bull riding. The event also includes the Buckeye Stampede Challenged Rodeo for disabled individuals of all ages to come and participate in modified rodeo events and then stay for the first performance of the Pro Rodeo.

Benaroya Research Institute Triathlon at Seafair

In 2007, more than 2,200 participants took part in the sixth annual Benaroya Research Institute Triathlon at Seafair this morning at Seward Park. The “sprint distance” triathlon featured a 1/2-mile swim in Lake Washington, a 12-mile bike ride down Lake Washington Boulevard onto the I-90 express lanes to Mercer Island and back to the park, and a 3.1-mile (5K) run on the lower loop at Seward Park.
In addition, nearly 300 children participated in the PCC Natural Markets Kids Triathlon and it was a fantastic sight. With bikes flying and little ones running their hearts out, surely every triathlete in the making were proud to receive their finishers' medal.

This 8K run takes participants from Qwest Field up Alaskan Way on the Seattle Waterfront to Seattle Center and down the Torchlight Run parade route, just prior to the parade's start. 300,000 parade attendees line 4th Avenue each year to cheer on participants and claim their spot for the parade which starts just after the runners pass through the route. The post-race party at Qwest Field is a festive atmosphere on a typically beautiful warm Saturday night.

Aberdeen, MD has the honor of hosting the 9th Annual Cal Ripken World Series August 8th through August 16th!
This will be the 6th annual Cal Ripken World Series held in Aberdeen and the 3nd held at Cal, Sr.'s Yard, a miniature replica of Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The youth stadium and its features are part of the Ripken Baseball Complex, a state of the art baseball facility located just off Interstate-95 between Baltimore and Wilmington DE.
A "baseball destination" is taking shape on approximately 110 acres that currently includes Ripken Stadium, home of the Baltimore Orioles minor league affiliate Aberdeen IronBirds, numerous youth baseball and softball fields, batting cages, and a one-of-a-kind training island. The Cal Ripken World Series will take place on professional quality youth fields modeled after Camden Yards, Memorial Stadium, Wrigley Field, and Fenway Park.
The Cal Ripken World Series is the culmination tournament of the Babe Ruth League's 12u Cal Ripken division. The international tournament is comprised of 16 teams of 11 and 12-year olds from all over the world!
The tournament path will lead 10 teams from regions across the United States- including the Pacific Northwest, Southwest, Ohio Valley, New England, Pacific Southwest, Midwest Plains, Southeast, Middle Atlantic, the Maryland State Champion, and the Harford County Champion- to the Ripken complex. Joining the 10 U.S teams will be 6 international teams from Australia, Canada, Dominican Republic, Japan, Mexico and the Republic of Korea. This will be Japan's first appearance in the Cal Ripken World Series.

Our 30th annual race is the largest half marathon west of the Mississippi. It starts at the historic Cabrillo National Monument on Point Loma, with San Diego Bay on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. The course slopes downward to San Diego Bay, along the waterfront to the tall ship Star of India, through downtown, and ends in beautiful Balboa Park. Run the pristine Wasatch landscape amid the beauty of towering mountains, rolling hills, bursts of wild flowers on a friendly winding canyon road that gently descends to the Salt Lake Valley, and continues to show it’s beauty with the majestic Oquirrh Mountains across the plains.
The Half Marathon and the 1st member of the relay team both start under the Mt. Dell Golf Course Bridge. To the Start: Go on Parley?s Canyon, take the East Canyon Exit, and meet at the frontage road leading to Mountain Dell Golf Course. You can also go up Emigration Canyon to drop off relay team members. The canyon may be closed at the start of the race. Give yourself plenty of time.
The course goes up toward East Canyon, makes a left to Emigration Canyon, over Little Mountain, on to Sunnyside, makes a right on Arapeen Dr. and finishes in front of the Marriott University Park Hotel.
If entering the relay, it?s composed of teams of 3 runners. The first exchange will be the top of Little Mountain, second exchange at Ruth's Diner, third team member will take it to the finish. Teams are male team, female team, and mixed team.
This is a jewel of a course, with one hill at the start until reaching Little Mountain. From there the course descends to the finish.
Awards go 3 deep. Age groups will be broken down every five years starting with 14 and under to 70 and over. Relay teams awards will also go 3 deep.

In the past 3 years what was once a quaint stop off of Interstate 95 has quickly become a destination for children, families, and teams to play, learn and cherish the game of baseball.
The Ripken Academy consists of a youth-sized version of Oriole Park at Camden Yards, known as Cal Sr.'s Yard and youth-sized replicas of Wrigley Field, Fenway Park and Memorial Stadium. The Academy boasts a one-of-a-kind circular training infield, batting cages and a tee/soft-toss area.
Tournaments in Aberdeen include:
3 game minimum (weekend tournaments), 4 game minimum (holiday tournaments)
Official Nike Baseballs and Certified Umpires
Games on Ripken Academy's signature, professional-quality fields
Access to the entire complex, including concessions, on-site photography, merchandise venues, batting cages, pitching mounds & more!
