On Sunday, February 17, 2013, the Retro Design & Antiques Fair - winter edition! - returns to Vancouver’s Commercial Drive, considered one of Canada’s hippest & most colourful neighbourhoods. The 175 different vendors participating in this fun one-day fair are what make it unique to the city, and what guarantees the huge variety and sheer volume of antiques, memorabilia, and funky retro collectibles, all in one place at one time. Expect a great selection of vintage & estate jewellery, mid-century Modernist decor, linens & textiles, old kitchen collectibles, period lighting & fixtures, retro glam accessories, collector dolls & toys, pop culture classics, boho & shabby chic design, country stuff, advertising & memorabilia, holiday collectibles, decorative pottery & glass, sterling silver, and much, much more... PLUS - Learn All About Your Vintage and Collectible Treasures! Ever wonder about the history of that funky old brooch you inherited, or the value of that brightly coloured glass vase you snapped up at a garage sale? Drop-in appraisals will be available all day on a first-come-first-served basis. Items should be small enough to carry, with a maximum of three items per person allowed and each verbal appraisal is $8, or three items for $20. The appraisals will be conducted by Gale Pirie, an accredited member of the Canadian Personal Property Appraisers Group with many years of experience in valuing estate goods. She recently returned from a busy tour of western cities as an appraiser with the CBCs Canadian Antiques Roadshow, and we’re delighted she’s bringing her knowledge and expertise to Vancouver’s Retro Design & Antiques Fair! The Retro Design & Antiques Fair is held at the Croatian Cultural Centre, conveniently located at 3250 Commercial Drive at 16th Avenue in Vancouver, BC. Show hours are 10:00 am - 3:00 pm, general admission is $5 at the door, and parking is free.
