Description SA Folk Dance Festival Concert celebrating 55 years, Dancers from Canada, Louisiana and Texas to perform!
Spring Break offers a special treat to locals and tourists alike with the 55th Annual San Antonio Folk Dance Festival. (SAFDF). There is no sign of slowing down for this long standing event, in fact, SAFDF is just warming up! This year’s event was officially added to the umbrella organization of the Texas International Folk Dancers, TIFD.org.
The 55th SAFDF concert will include Serbian, Mexican, Slovakian, Philippine, Brazilian, Columbian, Basque, Hungarian presentations and more! Every one meant to celebrate diversity! Experience world class performances by the award winning Louisiana’s Komenka Ethnic Dance Ensemble, and Toronto, Canada’s Academy of Serbian Folkdancers!
Local favorites include: Karilagan Philippine, Hula Halau Ohana Elikapeka, Alamotion, “El Charro De Oro” Sebastien De La Cruz, and Austin’s Csárdás Hungarian Dancers and still more.
This colorful performance is to take place all under one roof on Saturday March 16th, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. at the Thiry Auditorium of Our Lady of the Lake University at W. Commerce. Free parking is available. The SAFDF Concert is $7 general admission online by 3-14-2013, by visiting safdf.org. OR, Tickets can be purchased at the theater ticket booth one hour prior to the performance for $10.
