DescriptionA festival held to celebrate the towns early Norwegian settlers. The town is named after Paulsbo, Norway, the home of an early settler. [A misreading of the name on the application for a post office by the U.S. Postal Service, resulted in the a becoming an othe name is pronounced, Paulsbo.] The Sons of Norway lodge in Poulsbo is one of the largest in the USA and has the largest folk dance troupe. Many of the towns buildings have a scandinavian architectural style, earning it the nickname, Little Norway. The festival has entertainment, a parade with ~85 units, food and games booths, a large carnival, road race, scandinavian luncheon, and an encampment of the a group of Vikings from the Society for Creative Anachronism, who demonstrate traditional Viking crafts and games.
