Jim Hogg County Vaquero FestivalHebbronville, Texas, USA
Early November
DescriptionJim Hogg County, Texas has been home to the vaqueroes for centuries. Ranches, many originating from Spanish land grants, today own their success to the vaqueros' labor. In June 2005, the resolution was put into a bill, which was passed by both Texas House, Senate and then later signed by the Honorable Governor Rick Perry. With the encouragement and endorsement of the county officials, a Jim Hogg County Vaquero Festival Association was organized with its main purpose to hold a festival to celebrate and honor the vaquero and the vaquero "way of life" which has touched almost every citizen of the county.
