DescriptionButte, Montana has been awarded the honor of hosting the 70th-72nd renditions of the National Folk Festival, an annual event that has showcased the country's finest traditional artists since 1934.
The National Folk Festival is the signature event of The National Council for the Traditional Arts. The NCTA founded and continues to organize the event in partnership with a new host community every three years. Cities that have hosted the National in the past -- Bangor, Maine, Lowell, Massachusetts, and Richmond, Virginia -- have decided to carry on with a regional festival beyond the initial three-year run.
