Rock the South
Cullman, Alabama, USA
Outdoor festivals celebrate many things. Some memorialize heroes, some honor historic achievements, and some are even dedicated to things as simple as food, music and life. What if I told you “Rock the South” represents all of these things?
On April 27, 2011 the south was “rocked” by an historic tornado outbreak that took many precious lives and caused catastrophic damage to many of the things we hold near and dear. This day taught us a lot about ourselves. It helped us all realize what was most important. It also brought out the best in all of us. “Rock the South” is a festival celebrating our recovery, our commitment to one another, and our Southern way of life.
On the one-year anniversary of this historic day over 15,000 people celebrated the first annual “Rock the South” in Cullman, Alabama with country stars Dierks Bentley and Kellie Pickler. This massive response caught the eye of another fellow southerner, Sara Evans. Sara along with one of the top event promoters in the country, joined forces to make “Rock the South” 2013 even bigger.
On June 21st and 22nd, 2013 “Rock the South” will host some of the biggest names in country music including multi-platinum recording artist “Sara Evans” (festival owner and host), 2011 ACM New Artist of the year “The Band Perry”, 2011 “American Idol Winner” and 2012 “ACM New Artist of the year” “Scotty McCreery” along with several country greats still to be announced.
“Rock the South” 2013 will also have a “Barbeque Row” featuring some of the finest barbeque in the south and a special meet and greet with SEC football legends, hosted by Alabama great Jay Barker.Performers
