4th Annual Greater Portland, Maine Festival of Nations purpose is to host Maine’s international community, ethnic diversity, perpetuate ethnic traditions, and encourage ethnic understanding, unity and a healthy Maine.
The Festival of Nations has been described by families as the most wholesome time they have spent together in Maine and it is FREE for everyone! The purpose of the festival will be achieved in cooperation with various ethnic groups that will present their rich heritage through authentic ethnic cafes, music, cultural exhibits, folk art demonstrations and international bazaar, health and wellness information, outstanding guest entertainers and much more!
4th Annual Greater Portland, Maine festival of Nations strives to promote understanding and appreciation for the diverse group of the state of Maine. Many of the ethnic communities will be represented in the state of Maine will share their culture through displays, food, and cultural enrichment. The intent of the festival is to bring together the various cultural represented in the greater Portland area, and to celebrate our diversity and unity. The festival will be free and family-oriented.
Best part of the festival will be enjoying the beautiful Deering Oak Park outdoors, sampling the exotic delicious food from diverse vendors featuring foods from all around the globe, dance into night to drumming and music from diverse musicians on stage. Vendors will be on hand with arts and crafts from many parts of the world. The festival offers a great opportunity to get an early – and unique – start on holiday shopping. There will be kids entertainment area for the little one’s enjoyment that will include clowns and face painting.
