The Aesthetica Short Film Festival is a celebration of independent film from across the world, and an outlet for supporting and championing short filmmaking.
As a dynamic player in the UK film festival circuit, ASFF takes places in the historic and beloved city of York. The screenings will cover a wide variety of genres and filmic styles, including: drama, documentary, animation, comedy, music video, thriller, experimental and artists’ film. Showcasing films across 15 distinct and iconic locations from medieval halls to ancient city walls, the festival invites visitors to create their own viewing experience.
In addition to three days of screenings, there will also be a series of master classes, workshops, and networking with leading industry figures, as well as special events and opportunities to meet the filmmakers.

York is easily accessible from the UK motorway network.
From London, travel north on the M1 or A1 until you reach the A64 intersection. The city is 15 minutes away via dual carriageway.
From Edinburgh, travel south on the A1 until you reach the A64 intersection.
From the west, travel on the M62 and join the M1 northbound until you reach the A64 intersection.
You can also arrive at York on the A19, A59, A1079 and A166 routes.
Frequent Park & Ride bus services operate into the city centre from sites adjacent to the A64, A19, A1079 and A1237.Times
