Irving, Texas - The crowds began pouring in early this year, excited about the strong line-up of entertainers for the Cinco de Mayo Celebration. More than 150,000 people - individuals and families, even multi-generations - gathered together at the largest free outdoor Hispanic Music Festival in Texas, now an annual tradition for thousands. This years 11-hour celebration filled the parking lot at Texas Stadium, delighting crowds with three stages of musical entertainment carnival rides extensive regional Latin cuisine the Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame traveling exhibit and merchandise and warm welcomes from the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and Dallas Desperados Dancers, who performed and signed autographs.
The crowd honored the most celebrated day in Mexican history by sharing this wonderful holiday with their families at Texas Stadium, said Susan Skaggs, director of civic affairs for Texas Stadium. We are pleased to bring the community this family event, along with our partner Univision Radio - Dallas. The event has grown substantially from 10,000 attendees in 1990 to 150,000 people today and continues to be a source of pride for the Dallas Cowboys organization.
Attendees enjoyed all the sights and sounds of the day as festive music thrilling rides and flavorful food such as grilled fajitas, tacos, roasted corn, and turkey legs provided a memorable atmosphere to commemorate the day. Additionally, the annual festival offered an opportunity to gather information on products and services ranging from health care, skin products, clothing, vacations, employment, home mortgage financing, medical developments, crafts and more
