A fun-filled four-day festival for all ages, set in one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas of Ireland. The backdrop to the festival is traditional Irish music and there are gigs and sessions ongoing each day from morning until late at night. Rock, pop, folk and jazz are just some of the genres represented to ensure all tastes are looked after! Roundstone Summerfest also specifically caters for children with various events - treasure hunt, under-12 soccer tournament, kiddies sports day, Teddy Bears Picnic, and much much more. Other Summerfest highlights include Beat-on-the Street(The Willful), Comedy Night and the Infamous Roundstone Hole-in-One Competition! The vast majority of events, unlike most other festivals, are free of charge (including music sessions). This year's line up includes: * Celtic Rock outfit - The Rye * The Infamous Summerfest Hole-in-One Golf Contest * The Willful, back by popular demand to play the Beat-on-the Street * P J McDonnell (aka Naked Camera's Jake Stephens) and Neil Delamere (RTE's The Panel) for the comedy night * The Connemara Culchie Competition (entrants needed!) * The Summerfest's second "Cow Drop" (youi'll have to be at the festival to find out!) * Over 25 traditional music acts; rock, jazz, folk and bluegrass * Sports Day and much, much more Roundstone Summerfest is also proud to act as a fundraising venture for the Irish Lifeboat service, the RNLI. Follow the N59 West from Galway. About 40 miles outside of Galway you will see a left turn signposted for Roundstone. If coming from Westport, follow the N59 South towards Clifden, and from there follow the signs into Roundstone. Daily bus service from Galway each afternoon (Galway - Roundstone - Clifden); journey takes approx 1hr 15mins.
