The newest, hottest trend in Chicago’s culinary scene is Food Trucks. Owned and operated by some of Chicago’s most popular and successful restaurateurs, Food Trucks are now a familiar and very welcome sight as they slowly cruise downtown and neighborhood streets- trolling for the hungry, discerning Chicago diner.
The Food Truck scene in Chicago has taken off like a rocket- and this sudden, huge success has prompted Time Out Chicago to design an actual festival featuring these fantastically popular food trucks and their chefs.
The Food Truck Social formula is simple: great food, great beer and great live music. More than a dozen of Chicago’s best food trucks are the stars of this event, featuring mobile treats from mac’ n’ cheese to fancy (and delicious) cupcakes.
Some of Chicago’s most prominent chefs from stationary restaurants make guest appearances- preparing and serving up special treats from various food trucks.
All of this great foods demand quality beer and wine. The selected craft beers, higher end wines and spirits add to the overall theme of quality. Adding to the party-like ambience and drawing big crowds is Empty Bottle Production’s Mainstage featuring some of Chicago’s hottest emerging bands.
In 2011, its second year, more than 20,000 people attended the event, exceeding all expectations. A second day was immediately added to the 2012 dates.
Headliners are booked by Empty Bottle Productions. TBAVenue
