Commemorating Florida's largest Civil War battle, thousands of authentic reenactors come together from around the nation to provide a learning opportunity in history, military organization and the life of a soldier during America's greatest, but most tragic, war. Two-day festival in downtown Lake City features more than 120 arts & craft booths, along with 30 food booths. Olustee Battlefield is 13 miles east of Lake City on U.S. and features sutler's village, both Union and Confederate campsites with skirmish on Saturday afternoon and re-enactment on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. (Feb. 15) Event draws 50,000 for two-day downtown Lake City festival and approximately 25,000 at battlefield.
Performers
Free live entertainment in downtown Lake City on both Friday and Saturday (Feb. 13-14). More than 2,000 re-enactors at Olustee Battlefield for skirmish on Saturday and full battle re-enactment on Sunday afternoon.
