2008 New Orleans Mardi Gras Sponsorship & Support Program
The New Orleans Mardi Gras is one of the most unique cultural events in the United States, if not worldwide. Due to budget constraints following Hurricane Katrina, the City of New Orleans offered 2006 Mardi Gras corporate sponsorships to help offset event related expenses and hired national ad club MediaBuys, LLC to represent their underwriter quest.
Glad Products became the first major corporate sponsor (in the event's 150 year history). In addition to its monetary pledge, Glad donated 150,000 Force Flex trash bags and worked with the Department of Sanitation and thousands of volunteers in pre, during and post Mardi Gras clean-up efforts.
In 2007, another milestone will be achieved. An exclusive broadcast of the event is being introduced by MediaBuys and will highlight unique celebrity-driven content. This will be the first national broadcast of the New Orleans Mardi Gras on a major television network. We've built this great national component into our
The City's recovery and rebuilding process is an ongoing effort that will take many years and event sponsorships have now become an integral part of the Mardi Gras celebration. Right now, there is an
