Opening Ceremonies: From 10:30am to 10:45am WHERE: Senter Park Recreation Center, 900 S. Senter Rd. Irving, TX 75061 (South of 6th Street) MAPSCO # 41B-B) WHO: Join The City of Irving and DCET in celebration of CINCO DE MAYO Multicultural Festival-Health and Educational Fair – WHAT: This event promotes education, healthy lifestyles and alternative resources for the family featuring community non-profits, county/state agencies, and retail vendors along with our traditional/cultural arts/craft/food vendors — all in an alcohol-Free environment. HOW: This is a FREE event with all day health screenings, multicultural entertainment, kids activities, arts/crafts, blood pressure screening, glucose, mammogram exams, and cholesterol testing with onsite results referrals — Free health tools and Raffle items while they last! - Entertainment – clowns, music and from ballet Folklorico, Mariachis, Indian and African Dancers! We expect around 5,000 people this year. MISSION To support DCET literacy programs and Senior High school students with scholarships toward college. To celebrate diversity and gain a greater awareness of the cultural and historical treasures within our city of Irving while making our Festival enjoyable through education and information as well as music, dance and food. VISION Diversity – Multiculturalism – Cultural Awareness About organizer: DCET has been a 501(c) 3 organization since 1998 in Dallas, Texas- Its mission is to assist youth and their families in their process of assimilation and acculturation with Literacy, Mentoring and Leadership programs.
