<>Rhythm & Roots
Charlestown, Rhode Island, USA
Rhythm & Roots is New England's hottest roots music and dance festival, held every Labor Day Weekend on Rhode Island's south shore. Cajun, Zydeco, Swing, Bluegrass, Blues and Swing are featured on the Main Stage and dance enthusiasts from every corner of the U.S. keep its huge dance floor in motion all weekend.
Over at the Dance Pavilion, patrons learn swing, Cajun and Zydeco dance moves during the day to live bands. Each night, Fais Do Dos keep the party going into the wee hours. Meanwhile, the intimate, relaxed atmosphere of the Workshop Tent is the perfect setting for fans to get to know their favorite artists up close and personal.
Children are a very important part of Rhythm & Roots. The Family Stage offers storytelling, puppet shows, concerts and activities such as instrument and mask making workshops, and a Kids’ Mardi Gras Parade that winds through the crowd each afternoon. The newest program for kids is the Rhythm and Roots Cajun Academy for Kids, where kids learn to play, sing and perform traditional Cajun Music throughout the weekend.
And there’s yet another component to Rhythm & Roots – the mouthwatering food – every bit as savory as the music! Rhythm & Roots serves up heaps of ethnic and regional dishes – from jambalaya and BBQ to lobster bisque and key lime pie with fresh ground expresso and cappuccino!
On-site camping, unique vendors, bike trails, tennis courts, and freshwater swimming pond. Beaches and oceanfront accommodations are just minutes away. All this on Rhode Island’s beautiful south shore!Venue
