The Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County continue the cultural experience with the 2014 Carrousel of the Nations! Delight in the tastes, sounds and traditions of an array of diverse culture groups at our kick-off weekend “Carrousel by the River” on June 13-15, 2014. This iconic festival has something for everyone including cultural cuisine, world music, eclectic art, and ethnic dance representing dozens of different cultures and all at one location – Riverfront Festival Plaza on Riverside Drive at the foot of Goyeau Street in Windsor, Ontario. This festival is guaranteed to increase public access to the creative community and increase Windsor’s quality of life and attractiveness as it enhances the rich vitality of our city by celebrating the diverse community that we all share. The Childrens Village will be filled with entertainers, dancers, games, crafts, music and surprises to delight the youngest members of the family as we encourage youngsters to develop unique cultural experiences.
Over the next two weekends Carrousel of the Nations - June 20-21 and 27-29, 2014, Ethno-cultural groups open their cultural community centres in celebration of their home country. Visitors can delight in the tastes, sounds and traditions of these cultures and help celebrate at the Villages represented in the area. Sample divine cabbage rolls from Romania, scrumptious cevapi from Serbia, melt in your mouth shortbread from Scottland, spicy curry chicken from the Caribbean and decadent nutella pizza from Italy, to name a few.
