DescriptionFans of the PineCone Bluegrass Radio Show will immediately recognize The Gibson Brothers. This group won 2011 International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) award for Album of the Year and Vocal Group of the Year for Help My Brother, the bands latest album which they released last year. Their most recent accolades include recognition earlier this year from the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA), which also recognized them for Album of the Year and Song of the Year for Help My Brother. In 2010, the brothers received the IBMA awards for Song of the Year and Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year for Ring the Bell, which was also the fifth consecutive Gibson Brothers album to hit the #1 spot on the Bluegrass Unlimited radio airplay chart.
The Gibson Brothers—Eric and Leigh—are widely recognized as the finest brother duet in bluegrass music today. Help My Brother is their 10th release and arguably the finest in the duo’s career. The album features 13 tracks, most of which are originals, and all which feature the ensemble’s tight arrangements as well as the contributions of band members Clayton Campbell (fiddle), Joe Walsh (mandolin) and Mike Barber (upright bass).
