Call for Entries: 10th Annual DC Shorts Film Festival Deadlines: January 31 (early bird) March 31 (regular). The DC Shorts Film Festival and Screenplay Competition is the largest short film event on the East Coast. In our 10th year, we plan on showcasing 150 films from around the globe — including the largest collection of Russian short films to ever be screened in the U.S. Hundreds of filmmakers and thousands of audience members to mix, mingle and explore the art of short cinema. DC Shorts reviews films under 20 minutes in all genres, styles and themes, and program screenings. DC Shorts is open to filmmakers around the world. Last year, hundreds of submissions were received from 47 nations and showcased 140 films from 27 countries in 18 unique showcases to a combined audience of over 8,300 people.
