Join us on Lookout Mountain on July 27 & 28 for the annual JulyFest Arts and Crafts Show in Mentone, Alabama. Organized by the Mentone Area Arts Council, this mid-summer event will feature a large and prestigious juried arts and crafts show under the trees in Mason Park free music by notable Alabama bands and artists and a pet parade, silent auction and dog adoption to benefit the Humane Society and Animal Resources of DeKalb County. The juried arts and crafts show, beginning at 9am, will feature the works of about 50 talented artists and craftspeople who specialize in oil painting, pastels, watercolors, drawing, photography, sculpture, wood art, rustic furniture, pottery, iron work, basketry, fiber and wearable art,and jewelry. At 5pm on Saturday, on the grounds of the Mentone Inn, Old Tymer’s Barbecue of Fort Payne will fill plates with their famous B-B-Que at $10 per plate. At the same time, tap your forks and toes to the melodies of local musicians. From 7-9pm, by the time you have cleaned the barbecue sauce from your lips, Country Star Leah Seawright will take the stage with her band, including drummer Mark Herndon formerly with the group Alabama. Fold out a lawn chair or spread a blanket to sing along or get up and dance, however the music moves you. From 1–4pm on Sunday, Mentone’s own Larry Joe Hall will be on stage at the Mason Park gazebo. Categorized as folk, rock and country, Larry’s style is punctuated with strong clear vocals and precise guitar playing. Mentone, a quaint and historic mountain town, is situated on Lookout Mountain and provides the perfect getaway destination for all ages and interests. This sophisticated, yet relaxed, country village in scenic DeKalb County, Alabama, offers unique shopping live music, art galleries and antiques shops fine restaurants and casual fare plus romantic bed & breakfasts, rental cabins, and family-friendly hotels and some of the most spectacular scenery in the South.

Directions
Located on Hwy. 117 next to Town Hall in downtown Mentone. Take I-59N from Birmingham or I-59S from Chattanooga and exit at Hammondville/Valley Head exit. Head east on Hwy. 117 and go up the mountain. Town is at top of hill. Mason Park is less than a quarter of a mile on the left after passing through the blinking light at center of town.
