DescriptionThe Experience takes place in Jackson, Mississippi on Labor Day (Monday, September 1, 2008). The event originally was designed to expose Mississippi talent in terms of the performers and vendors to the masses. The event drew a lot of statewide attention and artists from outside of Mississippi requested to be added to the line-up. The 2008 Mississippi Experience will feature music performers from through out the United States. Most of the artists from the Southeast. The Experience, also, features vendors presenting a taste of the South and traditional festival favorite foods.
PerformersThe Experience spotlights over thirty music acts from the Southeast representing Gospel, rock, blues, and R & B. The bands are upcoming regional and local acts who are promoting their respective new cds.
The Experience, which was sponsored in 2007 by the Sprint Store in Maywood Mart and 7 UP of Jackson, also features vendors presenting a taste of the South and traditional festival favorite foods. The feature artist appearing this year will be legendary blues great and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Bobby Rush. Negotiations are in the process between major headliners to perform.
