The Westmont Red, White & BBQ Competition and Festival is celebrating it’s 7th year in 2013. Each and every year since its inception, it has grown by an average of 25%. In 2013, the television program BBQ PITMASTERS will be filming at our festival. In its inaugural year, 2007, there was 36 professional teams, 6 amateurs and an approximate 2500 visitors. In 2011, the event had grown to over 60 professional competitors from across the United States, 40 amateurs competitors, a carnival, live music and was visited by well over 9000 people. 2012 will experience a maximum of 100 professional competitors, 60 amateur competitors, world class BBQ vendors, FREE live bands, commercial vendors, home craft vendors and so much more. In 2012, we plan to invite several of the military bases (i.e.: Great Lakes Naval Training Center and other Reserve Installations) to the event to commemorate Memorial Day. We expect to see well over 10,000 people during the weekend and are searching for national music acts.
