The Metronome CelebrationChicago, Illinois, USA
Mid June
DescriptionThe Metronome Celebration will deliver over thirty original bands on 4 unique stages, featuring a Rock Stage planned by Empty Bottle Presents and a Latin Rock Stage selected by the Congress Theater on Saturday, June 12th, while Sunday, June 13th will include a Punk Stage curated by MP Productions and a Folk Stage booked by The Chicago Bluegrass & Blues Festival. The Local Stage will feature talent from the area schools and community residents. Add in a diverse menu from over 20 restaurants, green products and service providers, arts, crafts, jewelry and more, and youve got a quarter-mile of the best of what Chicago has to offer.
Located at one of the most highly visible intersections in Chicago on Milwaukee Ave at Western & Armitage, the venue is book-ended by stops on the CTA Blue Line Train, and is less than a half-mile away from the Kennedy expressway and Metra Rail service. Over 30,000 people will descend on the strip to experience Chicagos ultimate music and culinary fare. Bring the kids to check out the Family Playground and Local Stage with talent provided by Goethe Elementary and Chase Elementary, as well as a host of games and activities that will show them how fun music can be.
The Metronome Celebration will benefit the Logan Square Neighborhood Coalition, which will distribute proceeds to the Greater Goethe Neighborhood Association, the Logan Square Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Goethe School, Chase Elementary and a Sustainable Project Award that will help to provide a better life for area residents. And with an aggressive recycling and bio-degrable sourcing program, we have set a goal of keeping 50% of our refuse out of local landfills.
We are excited to bring something new to such a great neighborhood and provide much needed funding to our community organizations, so we greatly appreciate your support. Be sure to check out the Metronome Celebration, June 12th & 13th, 2010 at 2000 N. Milwaukee @ Western & Armitage.
