The Danish Villages of Elk Horn and Kimballton, Iowa begin their Christmas celebration with Julefest 2009 on November 27, 28 and 29. The important elements of a Danish Christmas – good food, warm hospitality, flickering candles and other decorations – will all be a part of this weekend. There are unique shops, specialty stores, a winery, museums, and craft fairs for early holiday shopping as well as many food establishments who will be serving pastries, breads, candies, Danish open faced sandwiches and Danish specialties such as rullepølse. There are over 20 locations offering exquisite one-of-a-kind gifts. In addition, live entertainment such as Father Christmas, carriage rides and musicians will be strolling the streets of the Danish Villages. Julefest 2009…three days of holiday cheer that will warm everyone’s heart!
