WELCOME TO THE FESTZELT
The heart of Mountain View Oktoberfest is its massive 200-foot Festzelt, where long communal tables, flowing beer, live music and dancing create the atmosphere of a traditional German beer hall right on Castro Street.
Grab a seat, raise a stein with old friends or make some new ones. Oktoberfest is about more than beer. It is about coming together, sharing a table and embracing the Bavarian spirit of Gemütlichkeit: warmth, friendliness and good cheer.
BEER THE BAVARIAN WAY
No plastic pint cups here.
Mountain View Oktoberfest has built its reputation on doing Oktoberfest the right way, including serving beer in real glass steins year after year.
Raise a traditional stein or beer boot filled with a curated selection of German style and Oktoberfest beers and toast to a weekend in Downtown Mountain View.
Come thirsty. Stay awhile. Prost!
AUTHENTIC OKTOBERFEST EATS
What is Oktoberfest without the food?
Come hungry for a mouthwatering lineup of Bavarian favorites including sizzling sausages, schnitzel, giant pretzels, strudel and more.
Grab a plate, find a spot beneath the Festzelt and pair your favorite German inspired dishes with a cold stein while the bands play.
LIVE GERMAN MUSIC
The soundtrack is unmistakably Oktoberfest.
Deutscher MusikVerein
11:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Saturday & Sunday
BlowMusik!
3:30 PM to 7:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday
From traditional German favorites to high energy Oktoberfest anthems, expect plenty of singing, dancing, stein raising and spontaneous celebrations beneath the tent.
STEIN HOLDING COMPETITION
Think that stein looks easy to hold?
Put your strength and endurance to the test in one of Oktoberfest’s most legendary traditions.
Competitors hold a full stein straight out at arm’s length for as long as possible. No bending the elbow. No lowering the arm. No shortcuts.
The last stein standing takes the glory.
BAVARIAN ATTIRE CONTEST
Lederhosen encouraged. Dirndls celebrated.
Dress for the occasion and show off your finest Bavarian style during the Oktoberfest Attire Contest.
Traditional, creative or completely over the top, bring your Oktoberfest best for a chance at prizes, bragging rights and some well deserved attention beneath the Festzelt.
FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
Mountain View Oktoberfest is more than a beer festival.
The celebration is open to all ages, with live music, dancing, food, games, contests and a lively cultural experience for the entire family.
Bring the kids during the day, meet up with friends for an afternoon stein or settle in beneath the tent and enjoy the music into the evening.
A MOUNTAIN VIEW TRADITION
What began in 2013 as a community collaboration has grown into one of the Bay Area’s favorite Oktoberfest celebrations, drawing more than 10,000 guests to Downtown Mountain View.
Now celebrating its 11th year, Mountain View Oktoberfest continues the traditions that have made it a local favorite while bringing the celebration to Castro Street with more room to eat, drink, dance and celebrate.
