Come join us for a fun 2-hour adventure in Dorset where you can learn all about foraging! This special session is perfect for anyone who wants to discover the art of finding and collecting wild plants and fruits in nature. It's super important to learn how to forage responsibly and know which plants are safe to eat.
During this beginner foraging experience, you'll get to explore the outdoors and learn how to identify different trees and plants. You'll discover common wild plants and how to use them. You'll also learn about the health benefits of wild ingredients and which plants to stay away from because they're poisonous. Plus, you might even get to try out some cool bushcraft skills like starting a fire with flint and steel.
What you find while foraging will depend on the time of year you visit. Different plants produce different foods throughout the seasons. For example, elderflowers are great for desserts in the summer, while elderberries are perfect for making syrups to fight off colds in the autumn. To really understand how plants change with the seasons, we recommend visiting at different times of the year.
In addition to learning about foraging, we'll also teach you some bushcraft skills to help you make the most of your time outdoors. Activities could include a workshop on starting a fire with flint and steel. The cost is £40 per adult.
These sessions are a great way to learn about foraging, bushcraft, and how to enjoy the great outdoors to the fullest.
