Visit amazing Douglas, Georgia for their 3rd Annual Gopher Tortoise Festival. Enjoy two full days of live music, arts & crafts, fun kid activities, delicious food and much more. The festival is located behind the Central Square Gym Complex, 216 S. Madison Ave., Douglas, GA 31533. Dates are Friday, Nov 18 from 4-10pm and Saturday, Nov 19 from 9am - 4pm. Admission is free.
The Gopher Tortoise Festival is an arts & crafts festival featuring some amazing artists selling everything from candles to wooden bowls and boards, bath soaps to custom cups and tumblers, and plenty in between. Every item must be handmade, homemade or homegrown by the seller. This is the perfect time to grab gifts for friends, co-workers and family and a few for yourself.
Food trucks of all types will be at this year's Gopher Tortoise Festival. BBQ, snow-cones, cupcakes, pizza, seafood, burgers, kettle corn and of course funnel cakes. There will be lemonade, sweet treats, pretzels, corn dogs, beef jerky and more. They’ll be lining Bryan Street with anything you could ask for.
This two-day event also brings some great entertainment. Friday evening on the 93.5 Vibe FM Stage Austin Lane and Lance Stinson perform a free concert. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy a night of delicious food and great music beginning at 6:30pm. Saturday the stage is full with local exhibitions, music, two reptile shows and a lunch concert with The Soul Shine Band.
Kids will love the face painting, stilt walker and some fun and games at a few of our vendor booths. For kids of all ages, there is axe-throwing, a 360 degree photo booth, pet adoptions, live reptiles & gopher tortoises and thanks to Smile Doctors Orthodontics, a free bungee trampoline for a bouncing good time.
Make a weekend of it and enjoy historic downtown Douglas while you’re there. All of the antique shops, boutiques and restaurants will be staying open and are only a block away from the festival. The festival itself is held outdoors behind the Central Square Gym Complex.
Special thanks to all of our sponsors who helped make this happen. Smile Doctors Orthodontics, Vyve Broadband, City of Douglas, Pilgrims Pride, Windstream, Coffee Regional Medical Center, Premium Peanut, Douglas National Bank, The Medicine Cabinet & Broadcast South.
