64th Annual UChicago Folk Festival
Festival Details - "64th Annual UChicago Folk Festival"...
Start: Friday, February 9, 2024 8:00PM
End: Saturday, February 10, 2024 11:00PM
This festival has been happening on UChicago’s campus since 1961, and brings a unique, warm mood of celebration to Chicago’s February cold. Performing both Friday and Saturday nights will be the Price Sisters (classic bluegrass), Jerron Paxton (traditional Americana), and Brian Conway (Irish fiddle). The lineup is rounded out on Friday by the Chicago Arab Music Ensemble and electric blues guitarist Mack McDonald; and on Saturday by old-time fiddler Ruby John and klezmer clarinetist Michael Winograd. These concerts are at Mandel Hall, 1131 E 57th St. Friday’s concert is at 8, and Saturday’s at 7:30.
Additionally, there are free, welcoming, all-ages workshops — including dances, lessons, and mini-concerts — all day Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM! These are at Ida Noyes Hall, 1212 E 59th St. Tickets are not required to attend workshops.
Tickets are on sale now and can be bought through our website, www.uofcfolk.org. The prices are $30 regular, $20 senior, and $5 students/children, with $15/person group rates available for large organized groups. We will respond to any questions via email, at uofcfolk@gmail.com.
