St. Louis Musicians for People with Disabilities is a committed group of professional and semi-professional musicians who recognize the need to extend assistance and understanding for people with disabilities and disability issues.
We thank our Sponsors -- Lighthouse for the Blind-Saint Louis; Sheperd's Center; SCORE; Webster Groves Garden Café.
Twenty percent of the U.S. population suffers with some form of disability that limits their opportunities. We want to help change society’s perceptions about people who are disabled, advance ability awareness for all people considered disabled, and endorse organizations that help them overcome challenges in today’s world.
The charitable group’s inaugural fundraising event, called “A Hootenanny Benefit for People with Disabilities,” is planned for Sunday, September 25, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the outdoor stage at Webster Groves Garden Café. The seven musical acts will include three by musicians and singers who are disabled. All proceeds will be distributed to local grassroots nonprofit organizations that help children and adults who are disabled. Admission is free.
