On Friday 29th September, at Tymperleys in Colchester, violinist Sijie Chen and cellist Orlando Jopling's lunchtime concert take the audience on a captivating musical journey featuring an eclectic programme with works by Corelli, Kodály, Igudesman and Thorp.

Sijie ‘Susie’ Chen and Orlando Jopling have been collaborating together since summer 2020. As members of the Wild Arts Ensemble, they tour 30 venues across the UK annually with opera and chamber music, and they are co-founders of the Bloomsbury Players, a group specialising in playing Romantic chamber music on gut strings and with a historical approach.
Sijie’s chamber collaborations have included performances with Nicola Benedetti, Roderick Williams, Iestyn Davies, Alasdair Beatson and Huw Watkins; at the Edinburgh International Festival, Prussia Cove Open Chamber Music and other festivals worldwide. Sijie is the co-leader of the London Mozart Players, tours with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields and was previously a member of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
During her studies in the UK, USA and Germany Sijie became a string finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year Competition.
On period instruments she plays with the Academy of Ancient Music and the English Concert.
