Alaska Zoo Kids Fun Run

The Alaska Zoo Kids Fun Run is back! We are partnering with Healthy Futures Alaska to hold this popular event again on zoo trails with sponsorship by Walmart (Wasilla location). We will also have Kona Ice at the finish line for cold treat purchases and our very own Kape Espresso Tayo Zoo Coffee Shop open for business as the finish line as well. The run is for ages 5 to 12, but the whole family is invited to cheer them on. $25 for the first runner’s registration, then $20 for each additional runner. Small service fees will be added to these prices in checkout for online processing. One adult has free entry as part of your registration. For those beyond the registered runners or one free adult, regular admission rates and membership use apply. Registration for this run is online only in advance of the race day. Registration will close at 11:59pm on September 13th, 2024. Zoo Entry: The zoo will open late to the public at 10am Saturday, Sept. 14, for Kids Fun Run happening 8-10am. If you are coming to watch, arrive at 8am and pay entry at the gate or use your membership, then go to the zoo lawn. Runner registration comes with one free adult. Healthy Futures will provide finisher’s medals, race bibs and a run leader (known as a Healthy Hero). The Alaska Zoo and Walmart will provide a Fun Run frisbee, snacks and drinks at the finish. The event will also include a first aid tent, mascots on the trails and race route helpers along the trails, courtesy of our awesome zoo volunteer crew!
