Alyce Chaucer Festival

Everyone is warmly invited to Ewelme on the weekend of 16-18 May, to celebrate the life and times of Alyce Chaucer (1404-1475). Alyce built the almshouses and the school in Ewelme and rebuilt the church. They form a unique complex of medieval buildings, all of which will be open throughout the festival. There will be a concert of late medieval music on the Friday, followed by a full programme of talks on Saturday and Sunday; with a special commemoration service on Sunday sung to a medieval setting of the mass.
