America’s River Roots Festival is the Ohio River's biggest music event ever, set to carry the musical roots of our nation along the Cincinnati, Covington and Newport riverfronts. From October 08-12, 2025, this will be an unforgettable riverfront experience with over 100 musical acts on eight stages. 

The River Roots Concert Series in Smale Park features headliners Weezer, Janelle Monae, Mt. Joy, Maren Morris and Walker Hayes! Soak up the rhythms of the river with blues, jazz, indie rock, bluegrass, gospel, Americana, country, Latin, zydeco and more. 

As a signature kick-off event for America’s 250th, you can experience all the influences of our region and nation through: 

• 180 Riverboat Cruises - 9 riverboats with dozens of themes!

• Kentucky Bourbon Experience- tastings and bottles

• Craft Brewmaster Experience - tours and tastings

• Regional culture with the Freedom Journey App and Riverwalk Experience App
