Strawberry season has arrived on Cape cod, and Annual Strawberry Day is the perfect time to visit the Thornton Burgess Green Briar Nature Center & Jam Kitchen. Enjoy fresh strawberries in a homemade dessert served in the historic kitchen from 11am to 2pm for $8, along with demonstrations of old-fashioned strawberry jam making. Browse in the unique Mercantile offering jams and a wide variety of nature-related books, toys and gifts. View the gallery exhibit featuring the life and works of renowned children's author and naturalist Thornton W. Burgess, whose 150th birthday is being celebrated during 2024. His stories of Peter Rabbit and animal friends have taught generations of children a love of wildlife and appreciation for the world of nature. Stroll the paths of the award winning Wildflower Garden and the grounds around the "Smiling Pool" pond on a fine early summer's day!. .
