Bard Conservatory Chinese Music Ensemble Concert

Join us for an afternoon of beautiful traditional Chinese music performed by talented young musicians studying Chinese music at Bard Conservatory. Buddhism has influenced Chinese music throughout its long historical development in China, resulting in many compositions inspired by Buddhist themes. Immerse yourself in the rich sounds of Chinese instruments and experience the cultural heritage of China and Buddhism through music. The US-China Music Institute of the Bard College Conservatory of Music promotes the study, performance, and appreciation of music from contemporary China, and supports musical exchange between the United States and China. It is the first degree-granting program in Chinese instrument performance in a U.S. conservatory.
