The opening night of the festival features quintets by two of the great composers from the 20th century—Béla Bartók and Dmitri Shostakovich. These works, while different in their approach and spirit, share a commitment to exploring and expanding the possibilities of chamber music.
We are joined by Huw Watkins who performs with Orlando Jopling and members of the Wild Arts Ensemble in this energetic programme.
