Beltane Celebration

Join us for a Beltane celebration at Oak & Ash & Thorn, held in Voltaire’s Wood from 6pm to midnight on Saturday 4 May with the opportunity to continue the festivities by camping with us overnight. The Beltane fire festival marks the start of much merriment in the Wheel of the Year (the eight solar holidays of the pagan and ancient Celtic calendars) and we plan on bringing the revels to the woods. There will be dancing, storytelling, a bar and no self respecting Beltane festival would be without a bonfire: the perfect way to see in the summer. It is also the season of love and fertility, and for those who would like to renew their vows or pledge their commitment, a handfasting celebrant will be in attendance to take advantage of the positive energy that flows all around us at this time. And for everyone who would like to call down a blessing to strengthen their hearts, we will be decorating a hawthorn in good old May Day fashion. This is a celebration for those in love, looking for love and who love a dance!
