Beltane Fantasy Festival

The Beltane Fantasy Festival is a Scottish folklore celebration of Spring with faeries, elves and fantastical sights. Similar to a Renaissance Faire, people often choose to come in costume (some very elaborate) and enjoy the many booths selling everything from leatherwork, handcrafted swords and jewelry, dragons and unicorns, costumes, and all manner of foods, beverages, games and crystals. The Courts, made up of Seelies and Unseelies (good-natured and malevolent faeries), are symbolic of the darkness of winter approaching the lightness of spring. There are armored combat sword-fighting presentations, jugglers, fire masters, storytellers, orcs, blacksmiths, mermaids, stockades, dragons, a maypole and more. Did I mention period music and dance? And there are many, many things that will entertain the kids.
