Books change lives! According to the U.S. Department of Education, nearly two-thirds of low-income families they studied owned no books for their children. Does this matter? YES! "The only behavior measure that correlates significantly with reading scores is the number of books in the home." Together, through the Book It For Books 5K, we can provide books for Northern Virginia children and invest in reading and literacy in our own community! Families and children are invited for the fun, which includes free books for kids and a visit by Clifford, the Big Red Dog! Please dress as a favorite literary character if you wish to add to the festivities! Hello Fancy Nancy, Power Rangers, and fairies, witches, and villains galore!
