Join us at 10:30 for a Marimba Workshop followed by a performance at 12:15 Bopoma Community Music is dedicated to bringing people together to enjoy learning and playing the deep and varied music of Zimbabwe and southern Africa. Our main focus in exploring this richness is experience the joy of playing marimba in ensemble form. We strive to maintain an inclusive warm-hearted spirit as we learn music and work together, building a community of love, support and motivation for each student. For this performance our lineup includes: Ted Wright and Rick Palmer from Canada’s original marimba band Marimba Muzuva; Noella Cregheur, formerly of Makeke Marimba from Lasqueti Island; and Gita Grant and Rob Wood, past members of Hornby Island’s Amani Marimba.
