About this event Food & Drink • Beer Burns Night Celebration at the Brewery Market with a Celtic Twist Join us on January 24th or 25th for a unique Burns Night celebration, where we not only pay tribute to the great Scottish poet Robert Burns but also explore the historic ties between mead, poetry and Scotland. Meads and Scottish Ales: Journey through a tasting of fine meads and traditional Scottish ales, including the fabled Heather Ale. As you sip, discover the fascinating stories and historical connections. The Tale of Heather Ale: Uncover the history of Heather Ale, a legendary brew from Scotland, alongside tales of its mysterious origins and its symbolic significance in Scottish culture. Celtic Connections: Learn about the historical and cultural ties between mead and Scotland. Delve into what has influenced this drink through the ages, from poems and folklore to rebellions and alliances. A Tale of Two Whiskies: Yes, they'll be two whiskies for you to try. Both of them Scottish. I'll say no more about this until the night. Traditional Haggis Supper: Feast on a classic haggis, prepared in the traditional Scottish way, and understand its significance in Scottish culture, complemented by a selection of bard-inspired side dishes. There is a veggie option, please ensure you add on the VEGGIE option at the check out.
