Celebrate small town goodness at Canal Day, a street fair in the center square of Newport on October 1, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This annual celebration brings the community together for a day of food, arts, crafts and music. A pep rally with Newport High School athletic teams, cheerleaders and band starts the day at 9:00 a.m. Popular local band Katz 22 performs classic and modern rock and roll at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Newport High School senior Alexis Otstott performs at 12 pm. The day also features Newport Fire Company bucket rides, free children’s activities including a bounce house, crafts and alpacas, and free drawings for gift cards. A stilt walker will entertain the crowd and a balloon artist will provide twisted treats for kids.
