Charlbury Beer Festival - 28 June @ Charlbury Cricket Club

Our day of fun, festivity and fundraising for all the family is taking place at Charlbury Cricket Club, Oxfordshire from 12 noon to 9.30pm. We will be raising money for community projects, both in the Charlbury area and overseas. After our last festival we celebrated taking our total funds raised for good causes to around £325,000. How amazing is that? Last year we awarded grants to a variety of groups including Charlbury’s Art Society, Community Workshop, Corner House, Cricket Club, Exhibition Foundation, Pre-School, Primary School, Refugee Action Group, Scout Group, Thomas Gifford Trust, Wildlife Society, Youth Club, Youth Football Club, Chipping Norton Theatre, and Finstock Village Hall; as well as an overseas project supporting education for children and young women in Afghanistan. Let’s face it, it’s thanks to all those people who have come to enjoy a day out in the sunshine and helped quaff some of the finest ales available. And it is also thanks to those generous sponsors who have financed the beers and the entertainment tents, and of course, the beers themselves, plus the many hours that committee members and other volunteers have put in over the years. Cheers all round! The day will incorporate around 60 real ales, a variety of craft beers, a range of ciders and perries, wine, gin, and Pimm’s; a great selection of food; live music throughout; the Culture Tent with its eclectic programme of performances and talks; children’s entertainment; PLUS top-notch sport with the 13th World Aunt Sally Singles Championships – can Roger Goodall win the crown for an unprecedented fourth time? Charlbury Cricket Club provides a glorious setting, just across the road from Charlbury station. There are excellent all-day bus and train services to and from Charlbury to Oxford, Chipping Norton, Reading, Witney, Worcester and London, so you don’t even need to drive if you want to have a drink.
